Who we are?

British Rowing is the national governing body for rowing in Great Britain, supporting clubs, participants, volunteers and the wider rowing community. Alongside its role in the sport, British Rowing is also developing a practical sustainability agenda focused on protecting the environments rowing depends on and helping clubs adopt more sustainable ways of operating.

Why we partnered with kitround

British Rowing’s sustainability work is grounded in practical action, shared learning and supporting the rowing community to reduce its environmental impact. Working with kitround creates an opportunity to extend that work into an area that matters to clubs and participants: how usable sports kit can stay in play for longer, rather than becoming waste too early. This collaboration is focused on education, awareness and community benefit. Together, British Rowing and kitround are exploring how clubs and the wider rowing community can think more practically about reuse, access and waste reduction, while building confidence around circular approaches that are appropriate for the sport.

Our objectives together

Together, British Rowing and kitround are exploring how clubs and the wider rowing community can think more practically about reuse, access and waste reduction, while building confidence around circular approaches that are appropriate for the sport.

Extending the life of sailing kit is one of the simplest, most effective ways we can reduce our sport’s environmental footprint.

By partnering with kitround, we’re turning unused kit into real impact- keeping equipment in circulation, reducing waste and helping to make participation in sailing more accessible.
